Welcome to the website of the Gisborne Astronomical Society (GAS)- New Zealand
GAS is a small but passionate group of astronomers with varied experience and equipment who come together regularly to persue our passion - ASTRONOMY! We hold monthly meetings on the LAST Wednesday of each month (excluding December) at the James Cook Observatory, Kaiti Hill at 7:30pm. We also hold public viewing nights at the Cook Observatory each Tuesday (7:30pm - non daylight saving, 8:30pm - daylight saving) - $5 per person.

The next meeting will be: Wednesday 24th Jume 2009 (7:30pm) at the Cook Observatory on Kaiti Hill. GAS president, John Drummond, will be speaking about Matariki from an astronomical perspective. All welcome.
