CANON EOS 10D NOISE

The following are some 'dark frames' (exposures taken with the lens cap on) made with the Canon EOS 10D to see what 'noise' (light pixels on a dark background) is created. The exposures were 1 and 10 minutes and the camera was kept on for an hour to see if noise increased with time as the camera got warmer due to its being on. The ambient temperature was 28*C (82*F). The f-stop was set at f3.5.

Hot pixels: # 1 - 1 minute exposure - camera just turned on............................#2 - 10 minute exposure
# 3: 1 minute exposure	# 4: 1 minute exposure - camera on for 20 minutes
# 5: 1 minute exposure	# 6: 10 minute exposure - camera on for 35 minues
# 7: 1 minute exposure	# 8: 1 minute exposure - camera on for 40 minutes
# 9: 1 minute exposure	# 10: 10 minute exposure - camera on for 60 mintes
