The Lagoon Nebulae (M 8 - NGC 6523 (emission neb) - Sagittarius
What can I say? This is a beautifully large and bright emission nebulae in Sagittarius. It covers an area of two moon diameters! Through the 16" scope it appears as a bright gaseous patch with lanes and structure.
